Girl Scout troop #1302 held its annual fall camporee in Oct at Dominion Valley Park. The troop worked on badges and patches, and all enjoyed making some Halloween crafts. It was a cool time, but the girls enjoyed all the outdoor activities.
A fire pit was kept going throughout the camping time. This came in handy for warmth but also came in handy for roasting hotdogs for Friday night dinner and then later roasting marshmallows and making s’mores. The girls also worked on several Girl Scout skills such as fire building, fire safety, dish washing, flag ceremony, the buddy system and several more. Cadette Scouts were helpful with the younger scouts and helped them out with several activities.
Thanks to Dominion Valley Park for the use of their facility. The girls are already looking forward to spring camporee. Also, thanks to those who supported the girls in buying nuts/candy this fall. Cookie sales will begin in December so be ready!
