Our next P&HCC Local Board meeting will be held Monday, November 21, 2022, at 12:00 pm at the MET, located at 65 Motorsports Drive, Martinsville VA 24112. Lunch will be provided at 12:00 noon, with the regular meeting immediately following. If you have not already responded that you plan to attend, please do so today.

Patrick & Henry Community College (P&HCC) will hold an Understanding Exposure course from 6-8 p.m. for $49. Pre-registration is required by going to augusoft.net, or calling (276) 656-5461.
Wednesday, Nov. 16
The Patrick County Community Food Bank will hold a food distribution day at the Stuart site from 8:30-11 a.m. and from 5-6:30 p.m. There will be a morning distribution in Ararat from 8:30-11 a.m., and an evening distribution in Meadows of Dan from 5-6:30 p.m.
Thursday, Nov. 17
The Carroll County Genealogy Club will hold its regular monthly meeting at 4 p.m. on the left side of the Historic Old Courthouse on Main Street in Hillsville.
The Patrick County Republican Committee will meet at 6 p.m. in the Virginia Motorsports Museum and Hall of Fame.
Friday, Nov. 18
The Woolwine UMC food truck will be at Fairystone Volunteer Fire Department from 3-5 p.m. There will be gently used toys for younger children.
Saturday, Nov. 19
A Vendor & Craft Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Rotary Field to help with Shop with a Cop. The guest speaker will be Brian Hubbard.
Fairystone Volunteer Fire Department will hold a spaghetti dinner & cash raffle. The dinner will be from 4-6:30 p.m., and the raffle will start at 7 p.m. A plate is $10, and includes spaghetti, salad, a roll, dessert, and a drink, and can be dine-in or take-out. Meatless options will be available upon request. Call in orders can be made by calling (276) 930-2113. The cash raffle tickets are $20 each, and the grand prize is $2,500 with an additional 16 prizes of $100 each and two prizes of $200 each.

The Meadows of Dan Christmas Parade begins at 3 p.m. in Meadows of Dan.

Stuart United Methodist Church will hold its annual Christmas Bazar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., with a large Christmas room, baked goods, homemade soups and chilis, a book room, and handmade crafts. All proceeds go back into the community.
The annual Stuart Farmers’ Market’s Mistletoe Market will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Bull Mountain Arts will host a Holiday Pop-Up Market in conjunction with the Mistletoe Market from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Patrick County Chamber of Commerce. Bull Mountain artists’ creative wares include paintings, jewelry, glass art, and more.

The Ararat Ruritan Club hosts virtual raffles on its Facebook page on the first of each month. Various items are raffled off at $10 or $20 per limited chance. There are 30-35 chances on each raffle. The Stuart Elementary School Running Club will hit the pavements along the sidewalks in town on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30-4:30 p.m.
The Stuart United Methodist Church will offer The Circle of Hands from 1:30-3:30 p.m. the first and third Sunday of every month. If it is a holiday weekend, the meeting will be canceled. Everyone is invited to attend the new group, which offers an opportunity to fellowship, and bring a project to work on or learn a new craft.
