Bull Mountain Arts will host a Holiday Pop-Up Market in conjunction with the Mistletoe Market from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Patrick County Chamber of Commerce. Bull Mountain artists’ creative wares include paintings, jewelry, glass art, and more.

DeHart Park will hold its Festival of Lights from 6-8 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and from 6-9 p.m. Friday and Saturday nights. The cost is $10 per car, and people are invited to vote for their favorite display.

Stuart United Methodist Church will hold a coffee, conversation, and fellowship with guest speaker Becky Turner giving a presentation on the evolution of Santa Claus.
Poetry Reading and Book Signing, 11 a.m. at the Reynolds Homestead. Author Bobby Bailey will celebrate his debut novel “Love and Murder on the Nolichucky.” Bring your book for signing or pick up a copy at the event. Bailey shares a great deal of experience with his main character in Love and Murder on the Nolichucky.
The Carroll County Genealogy Club will hold its December meeting from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the left side of the Historic Courthouse on Main St. in Hillsville. Open House with refreshments.

Victorian Christmas Open House, 1 to 4 p.m. at the Reynolds Homestead in Critz, with tours of the historic home and Victorian era ornament making and other activities available. This event is free and open to the public.

The Patrick County Community Food Bank will hold a distribution day at the Stuart site from 8:30-11 a.m. and from 5-6:30 p.m. There will be a morning distribution in Ararat from 8:30-11 a.m. and an evening distribution in Meadows of Dan from 5-6:30 p.m.
Friday, Dec. 16
The Woolwine Mobile Food Unit will be at the Fairy Stone Volunteer Fire Department from 3-5 p.m.
Saturday, Dec. 17
The second annual Christmas Spectacular will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 264 Woodland Drive in Stuart. Local vendors will be onsite selling their wares, and Santa Claus will be present from 12-1 p.m.

The Coffee Break Café hosts live music on Tuesdays from 9 to 11 a.m. Bring an instrument, or just come and listen.

The Ararat Ruritan Club hosts virtual raffles on its Facebook page on the first of each month. Various items are raffled off at $10 or $20 per limited chance. There are 30-35 chances on each raffle. Stuart United Methodist Church’s Circle of Hands from 1:30-3:30 p.m. on the first and third Sunday of every month to fellowship, work on a project or learn a new craft. If it is a holiday weekend, the meeting will be canceled. All are invited.
The Briarpatch Amateur Radio Club serves amateur radio operators in southwest Virginia and northwest North Carolina. All amateur radio operators and interested public can access the on-air weekly net held each Tuesday night at 8 p.m. with a frequency of 147.090+ and 103.5 tone.
