The Patrick County High School (PCHS) Varsity Girls Basketball Team opened up the season with an impressive 57-15 win at Dan River November 28.
Patrick County took a quick lead, going into the locker room with a 27-10 lead. They came out strong in the 2nd half, outscoring the Lady Wildcats 30-5.
Missy Hazard led the Lady Cougars with 12 points, 6 assists, 2 steals, and 5 rebounds. Eliza Clifton had 9 points, 1 assist, 3 steals, and 2 rebounds. Allanah Mitchell had 9 points, 2 assists, 1 steal, and 2 rebounds.
Coach Donny Rakes said it was a “really good win for our young team. We shared the ball well as 17 assists is a big number for high school basketball. I thought our defense was the key to the game.”
