Thursday, Jan. 26
A meeting to discuss the possibility of organizing a Ruritan Club in the Stuart Community and/or surrounding area will be held at the Patrick & Henry Community College (P&HCC) Community Room at 7 p.m.
The Briarpatch Amateur Radio Club will hold an in-person at the First Christian Church in Galax. Elections will be held at the BARC meeting, membership dues will be collected, an auction of analog gear is anticipated and the 2023 events calendar will be discussed. All amateur radio operators and interested non-hams are welcome to attend. Wayside Community Church will hold a Friday Night Fellowship starting at 6:30 p.m. Music will be by Debbie Bennett and guest pastor David Hiatt will be speaking. Homemade soup will be served in the fellowship hall after the service.
Saturday, Jan. 28
A Turkey Shoot, sponsored by the Patrick County Patriots, will be held at the Smith River Wildlife Building on Charity Highway in Woolwine, starting at 1 p.m. Practice rounds begin at 12:30. Food will be available for purchase by the Patrick County Patriots.
Sunday, Jan. 29
Peters Creek Baptist Church in Lawsonville, N.C., will hold a Fifth Sunday Night Singing at 7 p.m. with Megan Brianna Smith.
A Benefit Gospel Singing will be held at Sycamore Baptist Church from 6-8 p.m. A love offering will be taken for the Alma Hunt missionary work.

The Russell Creek Community Crime Watch meeting will be at 7 p.m. at the New Hope United Methodist Church. The guest speaker will be Deputy/Medic Daniel Hill.
Friday, Feb. 3
Patrick & Henry Community College (P&HCC) will hold a Management Bootcamp course in Patrick County from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The cost is $90, or $350 including the upcoming other three sessions. Pre-registration is required by going to ph.augusoft.net, or calling (276) 656-0260.

Providence United Methodist Church holds its annual subs and salad for sale for Super Bowl Weekend, be available on drive thru on Saturday from 4-6 p.m. and Sunday 12:30-3:30 p.m. Eight-inch subs are offered with three meats, three cheeses, lettuce, tomato, pickles, chips or salads and all the same fixings except crackers not chips. The Coffee Break Café hosts live music on Tuesdays from 9 to 11 a.m. Bring an instrument, or just come and listen.

The Ararat Ruritan Club hosts virtual raffles on its Facebook page on the first of each month. Various items are raffled off at $10 or $20 per limited chance. There are 30-35 chances on each raffle. Beginning tai-Chi classes, especially for seniors, will be offered at the Hooker Building at Rotary Field in Stuart on Mondays and Thursdays. Monday hours are from 9:30-10:30 a.m. and Thursday hours are from 3-4 p.m.
