The Patrick County Economic Development Authority (EDA) will meet at 7 p.m. in the second-floor meeting room of the Patrick County Administration Building.

The Patrick County Board of Supervisors will meet at 6 p.m. in the third-floor court room of the Patrick County Administration Building for a work session.

Wednesday, February 22
Ash Wednesday Supper and Service, hosted by Stuart Methodist Church. Salads Supper (Ham, Egg, Chicken, Macaroni, Garden, etc.) begins at 6 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Bring your favorite salad dish to share! Dinner will be followed by our Ash Wednesday Service of the imposition of Ashes at 7 p.m. in the Sanctuary. Everyone is welcome.
Thursday, Feb. 23
Patrick & Henry Community College (P&HCC) will hold a Management Bootcamp course in Patrick County from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The cost is $195, or $350 including the other three sessions. Pre-registration is required by going to ph.augusoft.net, or calling (276) 656-0260.
The Ararat Community Crime Watch meeting will be at 7 p.m. at the Ararat Ruritan Building. The guest speaker will be Commonwealth Attorney Dayna K. Bobbitt.
Friday, Feb. 24
Friday Night Fellowship, 6:30 p.m. at Wayside Community Church. Music by Herbert and Tina Conner; Guest Pastor Wayne Moore will be speaking. A light meal and refreshments will be served in the fellowship hall after the service. The church is located at 3520 Wayside Road, Stuart. Please join us for a great evening.
The 2023 Stuart Farmers Market Organizational meeting will be held at 11 a.m. at the Stuart Town Office.

The Woolwine Methodist Church food truck will be at the Woolwine Rescue Squad building from 3-5 p.m.

The Patrick County Retired Teachers will be presented a program on Scams against Older Adults at 1 p.m. in the Community Room of the Patrick & Henry Community College (P&HCC).

Coffee & Conversation, 10 a.m. at Stuart United Methodist Church. Bryce Simmons, Tow Manager of Stuart, is the scheduled speaker. Bring a friend and join us.

The Patrick County Community Food Bank will hold a food distribution day at the Stuart site from 8:30-11 a.m. and from 5-6:30 p.m. There will be a morning distribution in Ararat from 8:30-11 a.m., and an evening distribution in Meadows of Dan from 5-6:30 p.m.

The Woolwine Methodist Church food truck will be the Fairystone Fire Department from 3-5 p.m.
Saturday, March 18
Xperience Youth Rally, Patrick County High School Auditorium, 6 p.m., Corey Ball is the speaker. A drama will be presented by Redemption Point Church. The PCHS Praise & Worship Team will be featured.

The Colonel Abram Penn and Patrick Henry Chapters Daughters of the American Revolution will conduct a genealogy workshop from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Stuart Library.

The Patrick County Recreation Department will hold sign-ups February 1 through February 28, for tee-ball, minor league softball, and major league softball. To participate in tee-ball, students must be ages 4 through 6 as of April 1, 2023. To participate in minor league softball, students must currently be enrolled in grades 3, 4, or 5. To participate in major league softball, students must currently be enrolled in grades 6 or 7. Games will be played in April and May. Parents can complete a sign-up form at any of the elementary schools or by calling the recreation office at 276-694-3917.
The Coffee Break Café hosts live music on Tuesdays from 9 to 11 a.m. Bring an instrument, or just come and listen.

Beginning tai-Chi classes, especially for seniors, will be offered at the Hooker Building at Rotary Field in Stuart on Mondays and Thursdays. Monday hours are from 9:30-10:30 a.m. and Thursday hours are from 3-4 p.m.
The Briarpatch Amateur Radio Club (BARC) and our Region Four Auxiliary Communication network (AUXCOMM) are meeting in person. Everyone interested in ham radio is invited to attend the BARC meeting, and all AUXCOMM volunteers and curious hams are encouraged to attend the AUXCOMM meeting. AUXCOMM meets at 6:30 p.m. and BARC meets at 7:30 p.m. on the 4th Thursday of each month at the First Christian Church in Galax, VA. Mark your calendars! The Meadows of Dan Baptist Church will host Henry Blackaby’s study “The Seven Realities of Experiencing God,” where the group will watch the videos with discussion and questions to follow. The study will meet Sundays at 5:30 p.m. through March 12.
