The Patrick County School Board will meet at 5:30 p.m. in the School Administration Building.

The Patrick County Board of Supervisors will meet at 6 p.m. in the third-floor court room of the Patrick County Administration Building.
Tuesday, April 18
Patrick County Department of Social Services will hold its bimonthly Board meeting at 6 p.m. in the 2nd floor conference room in the County Administration Building. Please enter the building through the Social Services entrance on the bottom floor.

The Stuart Town Council will meet at 7 p.m. in the town office.

Wednesday, April 12
The Patrick County Community Food Bank will hold a food distribution day at the Stuart site from 8:30-11 a.m. and from 5-6:30 p.m. There will be a morning distribution in Ararat from 8:30-11 a.m., and an evening distribution in Meadows of Dan from 5-6:30 p.m.
Saturday, April 15
Fairystone Volunteer Fire Department will hold a country breakfast from 6:30-10 a.m. Dine-in adult plates are $10 each and child plates are $5 each. All take out plates are $10 each. To place an order, call (276) 930-2113.
The Country Boys, a local gospel bluegrass band from Patrick and Surry County, will perform at Life Tabernacle (located at 711 Iron Belt Lane, Stuart). There will be a community cookout at 4 p.m., with music to follow. Pastor Carlton Fitzgerald invites everyone to attend.

A public reception and awards presentation will be held at 5:30 p.m. for the 6th annual Student Art Show at the Reynolds Homestead. Bull Mountain Arts and Virginia Tech’s Reynolds Homestead are partnering to host the show through May 14.

The Carroll County Genealogy Club will meet at 5 p.m. on the left side of the Historic Courthouse on Main Street in Hillsville.
The Patrick County Republican Committee’s regular business meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the Motorsports Hall of Fame Auditorium attached to the Patrick & Henry Community College (P&HCC).

The Patrick County Alzheimer’s Group, LLC, will hold Patrick County’s Got Talent at the Patrick County High School (PCHS) Auditorium at 7 p.m. The competition is open to all ages, with prizes awarded by age groups. Shred & Meds Event, 9 a.m. to noon at Rotary Field. Drop off event for your old paper documents for secure shredding. Limited to 10 boxes per vehicle. Bring your unused prescription medications for disposal.
Tire Take Back, 1 to 5 p.m. at the Transfer Station. Fee waived to dispose of up to 12 tires per vehicle. No trash disposal is available during the event.

Ag Demo Day, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Rotary Field, featuring equipment and safety demonstrations, a Tractor Skills Competition, Barnival, animal exhibits and vendors. This event is free and open to all ages.
Patrick County Master Gardeners’ Spring Plant Sale will be held in the Memorial Building from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The Ararat Ruritan Club hosts virtual raffles on its Facebook page on the first of each month. Various items are raffled off at $10 or $20 per limited chance. There are 30-35 chances on each raffle.
