Ms. Joy Ann Turner, age 82, of Stuart, passed away on Saturday, April 29th, 2023, at Blue Ridge Therapy Connection in Stuart.
She was born March 4, 1941, in Stuart, VA to Dana and Virginia Hazelwood Haymond. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Barry Wayne Turner, and granddaughter, Alli Lane Turner.
Joy worked at R.J. Reynolds Memorial Hospital as a CNA on the floor, in the nursery and the emergency room. She assisted in labor and delivery and was also an ambulance driver. In her last years at the hospital, she was Ward Secretary.
Joy is survived by her children, Cathy Turner of Martinsville, Mike Turner of Roanoke, and Jason Turner of Stuart; five grandchildren, Dayna Haynes of Lynchburg, Samantha Hill of Vesta, Whitney Turner of Stuart, Jayse, and Sydni Turner of Stuart; five great grandchildren; special friend and caregiver, Kate Wesna, and special friend Judy Barbour.
A memorial service will be held at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart on Saturday May 13, 2023, at 11:00 AM with Rev. Tommy Shepherd officiating.
