Viewers of the “Crew Chief Corner” video series last year were entertained and educated by the lively discussions between current Motorcraft/Quick Lane Ford Fusion crew chief Jeremy Bullins and NASCAR Hall of Fame crew chief Leonard Wood.
This season, there still will be tales from NASCAR’s historic tracks like Daytona, Talladega, Charlotte and Darlington from Wood, but also introductions to key members of the Wood Brothers Racing Team. Engineers, the car chief, front and rear mechanics, the driver and a co-owner all will be Bullins’ guests in 2016.
In a special Daytona 500 edition of “Crew Chief Corner,” Bullins and Wood talk about the Wood Brothers’ colorful and successful history in the Great American Race. The video is available at https://youtu.be/ap-_yTpKZZo.
Wood discusses how Tiny Lund came to drive the 21 in 1963, David Pearson, and Trevor Bayne’s improbable triumph in 2011.
Later in the season, veteran team mechanics Roger Fenwick and Mike Smith race to see who can change a set of brakes the fastest and team co-owner Len Wood changes the oil on the iconic No. 21.
In the first installment—https://youtu.be/JUtecB1uaos—Bullins and driver Ryan Blaney discuss the team’s going to a full-time schedule in 2016 and look forward to the season opener at Daytona International Speedway.
