Hundreds were entertained and educated at the annual Civil War Encampment & Living History Weekend, October 7-8 held at Laurel Hill in Ararat, the birthplace of Gen. J.E.B. Stuart.
Attendees were treated to a battle reenactment, complete with cannons firing, horses and infantry battling for the field. Many reenactors thrilled the youngsters in the crowd, interacting with them after the battle, answering questions and sharing their love of history.
