Hi Patrick,
How about the temperatures over this weekend? Did you feel like the seasons have changed a little bit? Overall, the weather was great, but there were some complaints about the heat at the Folklife Festival held at the Blue Ridge Institute and Museum at Ferrum College. Patrick County Tourism was there, promoting the county and greeting many people throughout the day. We sponsored the main music tent, and the Patrick County Banner was visible all day as the singing echoed through the venue! This was the last big festival of the year, and I am grateful for our team and their efforts to promote our beautiful home this season! As we move into the holiday season, the evergreens take center stage, and we can see the leaves falling or already gone. The colors around us have changed, but we can find beauty in other forms, which includes us. I encourage you to watch our events calendar or visit the Visitors Center for updates, as there will be parades, fellowships, and music all around us. So, let’s greet everyone with a smile and say hello to our neighbors! As always, bundle up, stay warm, and “Find yourself here.”
I’ll be in touch soon.
Best regards, James Houchins,
Director of Tourism (jhouchins@co.patrick.va.us)
