The Town of Stuart is responding to a leaking water pipe on South Main Street that is affecting residents from the area of Food Country to the Patrick County High School (PCHS).
Town Manager Bryce Simmons said the town cut off a valve across the road from Shun Xing in an attempt to isolate the leak.
“But apparently, it is not isolating it, so we had to go back up Ashby Drive and cut off a valve there to actually get it to cut off,” he said.
Simmons said the town is currently trying to get the valve turned off “so we can get up in there and work.”
He does not know how long it will take to fix the issue but is hopeful the issue would be resolved by 2 p.m. today, Tuesday, Jan. 23.
“If we can get the vault pumped out and be able to work in it, we should be able to get it done in an hour, hour-and-a-half,” he said around 11 a.m.
