JV Lady Cougars defeat Glenvar
The JV Lady Cougars got a 26-19 road win at Glenvar, on Tuesday, January 23.
Lauren Hazelwood led the Cougars with 7 points, 5 steals, 1 assist, and 1 rebound. Gracen Conner played had 6 steals, 6 points, and 4 rebounds. Martina Hubbard had 4 points, 3 blocks, 2 steals and 1 rebound. Sheyan Lester had 4 points, 3 rebounds, 1 steal, and 1 block. Novella Nester hit a 3 pointer and had 1 assist. Chloe Hubbard had 7 steals and 4 rebounds. Aubreigh Large had 3 rebounds and a block. Meredith Wood had 5 rebounds and 1 steal.
“I am proud of my ladies for overcoming some obstacles tonight. The games are faster paced, and we are growing each practice. I am most proud of their teamwork,” said Coach Grace Helms.
Varsity Girls Beat Glenvar
The Varsity Lady Cougar Basketball Team defeated Glenvar, 53-12 on the road, Monday, January 22. Aniya Penn led the Cougars with 11 points, 2 rebounds, 4 deflections, 1 assist, and 1 steal. Kendra Worley had 10 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 deflection, and 3 steals. Allanah Mitchell had 9 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 6 deflections. Shauntel Hill had 6 points, 5 rebounds, 4 deflections, and 3 steals, and Kimora Wimbush had 6 points, 4 rebounds, 1 deflection, 1 assist, and 1 steal.
