Story Time was all about our eight-legged, web spinning friends at the Patrick County Library.
“Jumper” by Jessica Lanan, “Aaaarrgghh! Spider!” by Lydia Monks and “Squash the Spider!” by Nick Ward were read by children’s librarian Sam, followed by Master Gardeners Jess and Norma leading a program about why spiders are important to the environment.
The children then wove their own spider web and made a spider out of recycled materials. A spider ring, a beautiful brochure of spider facts and a maze were given to the children participating in the program. The brochures are available in the Books, Blooms and Bugs Garden outside the library.
