A Stuart man was arrested on Saturday, November 9, after allegedly spitting on a Patrick County Sheriff’s Deputy, according to a news release from Patrick County Sheriff Dan Smith.
Rodney Aaron Turner, 30, was arrested and charged with domestic assault and battery, obstruction of justice, and assault and battery of a law enforcement officer in connection with an incident that began at 10:30 p.m. when the 911 Communication Center received a disturbance call at 1199 New Hope Road in Elamsville.
Master Deputy Matthew Rorrer and Sgt. Lewis Carroll responded and found James Turner bleeding with his shirt torn. James Turner is Rodney Turner’s father, according to the sheriff. Deputies then located the son at a nearby residence and began to question him. Turner allegedly grabbed Carroll’s flashlight, at which time a physical confrontation ensued.
“Video footage shows Turner turn his head and spit on Sgt. Carroll as Turner is resisting arrest,” Smith said in the release.
Turner is being held in the Patrick County Jail without bond.
