Wednesday, Dec. 11
The Patrick County Food Bank will hold distribution at the Stuart site from 8:30-11 a.m. and from 5-6: 30 p.m., at Ararat starting at 8:30 a.m., and at Meadows of Dan starting at 5:30 p.m.
Thursday, Dec. 12
The Patrick County Senior Citizens Group will meet at 11 a.m. in the Hooker Building at Rotary Field in Stuart. Entertainment will be provided by Jimmy Handy. Attendees are asked to bring finger foods and desserts to share.

The annual Festival of Lights at DeHart Park will be held from 6-8 p.m.
Saturday, Dec. 14
A benefit dinner for Baby Harley, the child of April and Barry Pack, will be held at the CCDF Fire Department starting at 4 p.m. The cost is $10 per plate, and includes pinto beans, slaw, desserts, a drink, and potatoes. Donations are accepted.

The Reynolds Homestead Victorian Christmas will start at 1 p.m.

The Carroll County Genealogy Club will hold its monthly business meeting at 2 p.m. in Carroll County, on the left side of the Historical Courthouse in Hillsville.

The Patrick County Patriots Turkey Shoot will be held Saturdays in January, and Saturday, February 1 and 8 at the Smith River Wildlife Club. Practice rounds start at 12:30 p.m. Shoot starts at 1 p.m. Rules are factory chokes only, no sleeves or re-chokes, and no modified gun barrels. Food will be available for purchase.
The Patrick County Parks and Recreation Office is now conducting sign-ups for the grades K– 3 basketball season. Students in grades K–1 and students in grades 2-3 will play on co-ed teams according to the two grade-level groupings. Games are played on Saturdays during February and March. The deadline for sign-ups is Monday, December 16. Forms are available at any elementary school or the recreation department. Questions? The Coffee Break Café hosts live music on Tuesdays from 9 to 11 a.m. Bring an instrument, or just come and listen.
