New Junior Beta members with their certificates.

The Woolwine Elementary School Junior Beta Club held an induction ceremony on Thursday, January 26 in the school auditorium.

Students are required to maintain a 3.5 grade point average, with at least a B in conduct, to join the cub.

Twelve students were inducted into either the Elementary level or Junior level of the National Beta Club. Sydney Hopkins, Hayden Norman and Nolan Poperowitz entered at the Elementary level I, which covers fourth and fifth grades.

Jacob Caine, Taylor Edwards, Melissa Hazard, Emma Hutchins, Hayleigh Jenkins, Pedro Joaquin-Ortega, Carlie Rorrer, Devin Walker, and Jonathan Yarger were moved up to the Junior Beta level II, which covers sixth through eighth grades.

Club officers and members took part in the Key Induction service. Each new member received a club membership pin, certificate, and membership card.

The club members have already been very active this year. They have sponsored the Lowes Canned Food Drive for the school, with all donations given to the Woolwine Methodist Church food bank during the holidays. Members donated toys to the Toys for Tots organization before Christmas. Several members have assisted Mr. Coulter, the school guidance counselor, with the activities for Red Ribbon Week and the Kindness Challenge.

In the spring, they will sponsor the Pennies for Patients drive at Woolwine Elementary for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
