It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Kathy Anne Cassady, age 78, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, who left this world peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on Sunday, May 18, 2025. She was born in Patrick County on August 19, 1946.

Kathy dedicated her life to caring for others, and nowhere was that more evident than in her years as a daycare worker. With unmatched patience, gentle hands, and a heart full of compassion, she helped raise and shape countless little lives–offering not just supervision, but true love and guidance. To the children she cared for and the families she supported, she was more than a caregiver–she was a constant, comforting presence.

Outside of work, Kathy was known for her warm smile, quick wit, and the quiet strength she carried through life’s challenges. She found joy in the little things: morning coffee, the laughter of her grandchildren, and a home filled with family and love. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, humility, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. She will be missed more than words can express, but her spirit lives on in the memories she created and the lives she touched.

Left to cherish Kathy’s memory are her husband of 60 years, Harvey Jackson Cassady of the home; her three daughters, Laurie Anne Cassady of Stuart, Rebecca Gail Palmer of Patrick Springs, and Beverly Dawn Reynolds of Stuart; three grandchildren, Kelly Younger of Eden, North Carolina, Randale Palmer of Stuart and Shea Reynolds of Stuart; one great-grandchild, Ti’Lee Hayden; a special grandson, Jamir Leftwich; two brothers, Rodney Holt (Debora) of Stuart and Richard Holt (Brenda) of Ridgeway; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul Vester Holt and Martha Ruth Jefferson Holt; a son, Barry Jackson Cassady; and a granddaughter, Megan Leigh Palmer.

A graveside service will be held for Mrs. Cassady on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Patrick Memorial Gardens with Eli Robertson officiating. Moody Funeral Home in Stuart is in charge of the arrangements, and online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
