Depart at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, April 19 from Reynolds Homestead to travel to Charleston, checking into Hyatt Place Charleston, located in the Historic District adjacent to a trolley stop.
Enjoy dinner at Hyman’s Seafood Restaurant and the theatrical production, “By the Way, Meet Vera Stark,” a comedy about an African-American maid and her white movie-star employer in the Golden Age of Hollywood.
Wednesday, April 20, delight in a Charleston tea party, hosted by natives Laura Whichman Hipp and June McNight, featuring presentations on the history of Charleston during breakfast at the Palmer Mansion.
The tea will be followed by a tour of private homes and gardens in the city’s historic district, with a grand finale of high tea served at the guide’s private home. Optional tours are available Wednesday afternoon.
Thursday, April 21, visit Middleton Place plantation for guided tours and lunch at the Middleton Place Pavilion. Thursday evening savor a four-course dinner while cruising around the Charleston Harbor on the Spirit of Charleston. Spend Friday morning exploring the Historic Charleston Market before returning to Virginia.
The travel fee is $885 per person/double occupancy or $1,225 for single occupancy. A deposit of $200 is required by March 10; the balance is due by April 4.
