More than 25 indictments handed down in September

Grand jurors in Patrick County handed down more than 25 indictments on September 2 according to records in the Patrick County Court Clerk’s Office.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt, but a grand jury’s determination that enough evidence exists to warrant a trial.

Those named in the indictments are:

*Brittany Lynn Forcier, 36, of Patrick Springs, hit & run, Feb, 23.

*Tyler Benjamin Brockney, 24, of Stuart, one count each conspire to commit burglary and burglary, March 24.

*Joyce Lee Charles, 42, of Stuart, one count each conspire to commit burglary, burglary, and destruction of property, March 24.

*Vernon Leon Charles III, 40, of Stuart, one count each possession of Sch. I or II drugs, possession of firearm about person with a Sch. I or II drugs, and possession of firearm by non-violent felon convicted within 10 years, Nov. 21.

*Joseph Brooks Iddings, 42, of Stuart, one count each burglary, conspire to commit burglary, and destruction of property. March 24.

*Amanda Prillaman, 38, of Stuart, one count each conspire to commit burglary, burglary, and destruction of property, March 24.

*Mark Lukus Tatum, 48, of Martinsville, elude, April 30.

*Sammy Earl Bowman, 55, of Claudville, utter fake currency, Oct. 25.

*Sue Ann Dunn, 48, of Stuart, possession of Sch. I or II drugs, April 30.

*Shaine Scott Eckrote, 31, of Martinsville, assault and battery on law enforcement officer, Feb. 12.

*Amber Nicole Spencer, 32, of Lawsonville, N.C., possession of Sch. I or II drugs, April 30.

*Jason Garrett Chilton, 40, of Ararat, assault and batter on law enforcement officer, Dec. 20.

*Israel Jacob Davis, 27, of Mt. Airy, N.C., grand larceny of a motor vehicle, Jan. 20.

*Brandon Lee Bowman, 38, of Stuart, one count each possession of Sch. I or II drugs, elude, and possession of ammunition by convicted felon, June 16.

*Ronnie D. Goad, 51, of Meadows of Dan, one count each attempted 1st degree murder, destruction of property, attempt to commit grand larceny of a vehicle, burglary with a deadly weapon, enter a building night while armed, and possession of burglarious tools, May 5.

*Benny Lee King, 63, of Patrick Springs, one count each 1st degree murder and use of a firearm in commission of a felony, Dec. 2.

*Jennie Carrico, 42, of Hillsville, false statement on a firearm form, Feb. 1.

*Fassil Bazezew Haile, 19, of Roanoke, possession of Sch. I or II drugs, Aug. 16, 2024.
