To promote Constitution Week, Colonel Abram Penn Chapter NSDAR members Mary Martin, Julie Brannon and Ann McConnell, installed a display at the Patrick County Branch of the Blue Ridge Regional Library.
The Daughters of the American Revolution initiated the observance in 1955, when the service organization petitioned Congress to dedicate September 17-23 of each year to the commemoration of Constitution Week. Congress adopted the resolution, and on August 2, 1956, President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed it into Public Law #915. Wednesday September 17, 2025, marks the 238th anniversary of the signing of the Constitution.
