History will roll into Stuart—literally—on Saturday, Oct. 18.

The VA250 Mobile Museum, a hands-on, immersive exhibit housed in a quad-expandable tractor-trailer, will be on display at the Apple Dumpling Festival, bringing 250 years of American history to life.

At a conference earlier this year, VA250 Executive Director Cheryl Wilson said the mobile museum “centers its focus on making history come alive.” At each stop the museum has made throughout Virginia, guests have the opportunity to learn about key stories of Virginia’s long history and its place in America’s story.

“We are excited to have the museum here in the county,” said James Houchins, Patrick County Economic Development and Tourism director.

Noah Mabe, Small Business and Economic Development coordinator and member of the local VA250 Committee, has worked with his team to coordinate the event alongside the Apple Dumpling Festival. Houchins said he hopes for a large turnout. “I hope the county enjoys it as we learn about the beginning of our great country and celebrate its birth,” he said.

The mobile museum will be open during the Apple Dumpling Festival in downtown Stuart, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Entry is free and open to visitors of all ages interested in history and Virginia’s role in the American Revolution.
