Varsity Volleyball Wins Two
The Varsity Volleyball Team traveled to Galax High School on Monday, September 29, and won in 4 sets, 22-25, 25-21, 25-22, and 25-18. Jayden Callahan had 15 kills, 2 aces, and 9 digs. Camille Gonzalez had 38 assists and 20 digs. Journey Moore had 12 kills and 25 digs. Sydney Tatum had 10 kills and 5 blocks.
On Tuesday, September 30, they traveled to North Stokes, winning in straight sets 25-14, 25-11, and 25-16. Tatum had 19 kills, Gonzalez had 18 assists, 3 kills, and 8 digs, Moore had 15 digs and 2 aces, and Callahan had 6 kills and 8 digs. They are 7-4 in the season.
JV Volleyball Still Going Strong
On Monday, September 29, the JV Cougars traveled to Galax, getting the win with set scores 26-24, 6-25, and 17-15. Madi Martin led the Lady Cougars with 9 kills. Sheyan Lester had 8 kills and 1 block. Bailey Thompson had 12 digs, Reese Horton had 15 digs, and Meredith Wood had 18 assists.
On Tuesday, September 30, the JV Lady Cougars won 2-0, with set scores 25-20 and 25-14, when they traveled to North Stokes to take on the Lady Vikings. Thompson led the way with 5 kills, 6 digs, and 2 aces. Horton had 5 kills, 5 digs, and 3 aces. Savanna Fain had 3 kills, and Wood had 15 assists and 3 aces. Thursday, October 2, the ladies won 2-0 against Carroll County with set scores 25-11 and 25-16. Martin had 7 kills. Lester had 5 kills. Thompson had 4 kills, 8 digs, and 2 aces. Horton had 4 kills and 8 digs, and Wood had 16 assists and 4 aces. The JV Girls are 11-1 for the season.
