Larry Alan Roberson

Larry Alan Roberson, 71, of Stuart, VA passed away on October 12, 2025 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC due to complications after heart surgery. He was born on August 1, 1954 in Washington State where his father was stationed in the army, to Ray Warden Roberson, Sr and Betty Ervin Roberson. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Kyle Thomas Roberson.

Larry is survived by his wife and best friend for over forty-two years, Karen Cooper Roberson, two sons, Charles Landon Roberson and Travis Leon Roberson and one grandson Karter Allen Roberson. Larry is survived by one sister Deborah Roberson Hoback husband Dave and three brothers, Ray Warden Roberson, Jr and wife Cathy, Joel Bruce Roberson and wife Traci and Daniel Ervin Roberson and numerous nieces, nephews and two special sister in laws, Deborah C Martin and Greta R Cooper.

Larry graduated from Patrick County High School in 1972. After graduation he had several jobs before going to work at VDOT, where he retired from after 36 years. Larry had a wonderful sense of humor and an infectious laugh. Over the years, Larry loved to play softball, grouse hunt and trout fish. Later in life Larry loved riding his four-wheeler in the mountains and wrestling with his grandson, Karter. Larry was a member of Stella Christian Church and most recently attended Middle Cross Missionary Church until health problems prevented him from doing so. Larry taught Sunday school in his earlier years and read his Bible daily. Larry had a beautiful voice and sang in the church choir and on occasion sang many solos.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 pm on October 17, 2025 at Stella Christian Church, Patrick Springs, Va. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Samaritan’s Purse or St. Jude’s.
