Greetings Patrick,

Director of Economic Development and Tourism
Happy Fall to you. This is a little late coming. The leaves have almost finished their transformation, with the colors slowly fading away. I hope you all took the time to ride through the county to see all of the fall foliage. This month has been one of the busiest for tourists traveling through. They, like us, enjoy the peace that Fall can bring. With the chill in the air and the scent of pumpkin spice, we find ourselves slowing down for the next season.
October is coming to an end. We had a fantastic month of festivals, pancakes, apples, music, sunflowers, and, later this week, Spooktacular will take place on Main Street. This one event will cause the town to swell with kids and adults wandering our streets in search of candy and frightening treats. This kid-friendly gathering attracts hundreds of people to the community.
In November, we will turn our attention to indoor activities. Our events calendar is packed with many things for you and our traveling guests to enjoy. The Reynolds Homestead will be having a Holiday Arts and Crafts Show on November 8th. The Star Theatre has several events scheduled throughout the month, including The Living Storybook: Wizard of Oz, and the Roarin’ Twenties Edition with Dirk Quinn. This is only a teaser, as there is a whole lot more happening all around the county.
Don’t let the events go by without getting out and enjoying the sights, sounds, and smells of Autumn. October is gone, and November is awakening. So, be grateful and thankful, and spend some time enjoying all we offer here in Patrick. To follow up on all this information, please visit our website at www.visitpartickcounty.org, and find yourself an event to attend.
Be Blessed, Patrick!
James Houchins,
Director of Economic Development and Tourism
