The PCHS Class of 1975 celebrated its 50th Reunion this fall. On Friday afternoon, we enjoyed a tour of PCHS to see all the renovations over the last 50 years followed by a reception that evening with classmates, teachers, administrators and coaches who played an integral part in helping to mentor us into the people we are today. On Saturday, we held our banquet where we shared memories of times together, great food and those 70s hit songs.
Our journey began together in the Fall of 1970 as the newly consolidated PC High School opened. We entered as the very first 8th Grade Class with apprehension and anticipation, having lived our earlier years as rivals. But it did not take us long to form a unique bond that has lasted from our first day together to now 55 years later. We carry the distinct honor of being the 1st true graduating class of the new PCHS school having shared a journey of friendship from the 8th grade through the 12th grade and beyond. It is that bond that allows us to stay united and to give back to PCHS and to support each other. We made the decision at our 30th Reunion to start a Scholarship Fund and to date have given over $40,000.00 in scholarships to PCHS graduating seniors. As with any class we’ve had our share of sorrow with the loss of 25 classmates, we have provided in memory and honor over 650 Gideon Bibles for those we have lost and their family members.
We have held true to our class motto “During our life, we dream many dreams, live them to the fullest, for tomorrow death may come, and a lifetime may become a past time.”
While we are many parts, we have always been part of this one class that believes in each other and stays united within the challenges we face. It is this that has held us together all these years.
