James “Polly” Edward Scott

Mr. James “Polly” Edward Scott, age 78, of Stuart, Virginia, passed away at the Blue Ridge Therapy Connection on Monday, December 8, 2025. He was born in Patrick County on December 12, 1946, to the late Frank Robert Scott and Hertha Orea Lawless Scott. Polly was a man who worked hard his whole life, working as an electrician, mechanic, farmer, and logger. He took joy in his family and especially enjoyed being “Papa” to his grandchildren.

Left to cherish the memories of Polly is his devoted wife of 41 years, Vera Ann Turner Scott; two children, Amy Elizabeth Hensley (Don) and Jamie Leigh Scott (Jennifer); one step-child, Richard Carl Whitlock (Donna); seven grandchildren, Taylor Holleman (Justin), Spencer Hensley (Abbey), Mason Scott, Madison Scott, Mariah Scott, Millicent Scott, Maddox Scott; six step-grandchildren, Carla Whitlock, Ashley Hale, Zack Hale, Caleb Hostetter, Chloe Hostetter, and Riley Hostetter; two great grandsons, Oliver and Jax; and two step-great-granddaughters, Everly and Mackensie.

The funeral service for Mr. Scott will be held on Monday, December, 15, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Elamsville Church of God of Prophecy with Brother Greg Martin officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday afternoon at the church. Moody Funeral Services of Stuart has been entrusted with the services, and online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
