Mabel Bowman Hiatt

Mrs. Mabel Bowman Hiatt, age 85 of Stuart, Virginia, passed away peacefully at the Blue Ridge Therapy Connection in Stuart on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.  She was born in Patrick County on July 28, 1940, to the late Yance Ellis Bowman and Rosa Ann Branch Bowman.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mack Hiatt, Jr., “Junior”; one daughter, Debra “Cricket” Robinson; four siblings, Harry Reid Bowman, Macie Bowman, Margaret Bowman, and Edgar Bowman.  Mabel was a member of New Beginnings Baptist Church in Patrick Springs.  She enjoyed going to yard sales.  She will be remembered as a loving wife, caring mother, adoring grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.

Mrs. Hiatt is survived by four children, Joe Hiatt (Joyce), Rob Hiatt (Angela), Tracie Hiatt (Kevin Mabe), and Jonathan Hiatt (Adrienne), son-in-law, Kurt Robinson; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in Stuart Cemetery with Pastor Mark Wright officiating.  The arrangements have been entrusted to Moody Funeral Home in Stuart and online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
