Former teacher among those named in indictments

Grand jurors in Patrick County handed down more than 35 indictments on March 2, according to records in the Patrick County Court Clerk’s Office.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt, but a grand jury’s determination that enough evidence exists to warrant a trial.

Those named in the indictments include:

*Harold Bradley Dalton, 58, of Stuart, three counts solicitation of a minor by communications system, June 22. Dalton is a former Patrick County High School teacher.

*James Robert Moore, 47, of Chesterfield, grand larceny, on or between Oct. 14, 2024 and Oct. 15, 2024.

*Leonard G. Branch, Jr., 51, of Collinsville, grand larceny, June 25.

*William Stanley Lewis, 62, of Bassett, possess firearm by non-violent felon, Aug. 19.

*Sammy Wayne Smith, 54, of Ararat, one count each, possession of Sch. I or II drugs, and elude, on or between Aug. 28, 2025 and Sept. 7.

*Bo Dale Vipperman, 30, of Stuart, four counts child endangerment, and three counts maliciously shoot in occupied dwelling, on or between Dec. 20, 2024 and Jan. 19, 2025.

*James Brandon Bennett, 46, of Martinsville, one count each credit card forgery, credit card theft, credit card fraud, and embezzlement, on or between Oct. 1 and Nov. 12.

*George Kevin Rucker, 43, of Stuart, two counts strangulation, one count each assault and batter, abduction, malicious wounding, attempt to commit 1st degree murder, and possession of Sch. I or II drugs, Aug. 23, 2025.

*James Daniel Biggs, 35, of Critz, one count each use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, attempt to murder a Law Enforcement Officer (LEO), and possess firearm by violent felon, Sept. 22.

*Jonathan William Bostick, 50, of Mt. Airy, N.C., Drive while intoxicated, 3rd offense, Feb. 27, 2025.

*Michael David Knox, 46, of Stuart, one count each burglary, possession of a firearm by non-violent felon, and larceny of a firearm, Nov. 20.

*Christopher Wayne Hodges, 42, of Stuart, three counts malicious wounding, on or between June 1 – Oct. 15.

*Daniel Blaine Byers, 64, of Lancaster, OH, four counts solicit minor by computer, May 11, 2022.

*Ashley Lynn Bogle, 41, of Stuart, two counts possession of Sch. I or II drugs, May 12.

*Katelyn Briona Dunn, 20, of Stuart, possession of Sch. I or II drug, June 9.

*Herbert Tommy Pack, 52, of Stuart, one count each possession of Sch. I or II drug and possession of Sch. IV drug, Aug. 30.
