Margaret Pyles Noonkester

Mrs. Margaret Pyles Noonkester, age 74 of Ararat, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 9, 2026, at Novant Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem surrounded by her loving family.  Mrs. Noonkester was born on January 9, 1952, in Surry County to the late Thomas Franklin and June Willis Pyles.  Margaret was a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend.  She was an active member of Fellowship Church, Ararat Ruritan Club, and Willis Gap Community Center. She was always looking out for others. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.  Surviving is her husband of 53 years, Michael Noonkester; son and daughter-in-law, Chadworth and Amanda Huwaldt Noonkester; sisters and brother-in-law, Shirley Pyles Arnder; Ruth Pyles Browne and Michael; brother and sisters-in-law, Homer and Norma Jean Vernon Pyles, brother and sisters-in-law, Dwight and Alice Noonkester and Debbe Noonkester;  special loved ones who lovingly referred to her as “Nana” Taylor, Oliva, Lettie, and Waylon.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Noonkester was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Kaye Pyles; and brother and sister-in-law, Clarence and Betty Jean Sparger Pyles.  A funeral service were held on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mark Collins and Elder David Kamoda officiating.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy were entrusted with the arrangements.
