Twin Creeks Stringband is set to headline Patrick County Music Association’s (PCMA) Saturday, March 28 show. The event will take place in the Hooker Building at Rotary Field in Stuart. Doors will open at 5 p.m., and the music will start at 6 p.m.
PCMA President Denny Alley said it’s taken him two years to book the band due to how busy they are.
“They do like one old-time bluegrass, and then they’ll do an updated song. Every other song will be rotated in different genres of music,” he said.
While the group’s members are primarily from Ferrum and Rocky Mount, Alley said its banjo player is from Laurel Fork.
“He’s won all kinds of awards. They have a big following,” he said.
Alley said None of the Above will also take the stage.
“They put on a heck of a show. We have two good bands performing,” he said.
After the March show, PCMA will hold three more monthly shows before taking a break for the summer. Shows will resume in October.
Alley said another Songwriter Circle Series show will be June 6 at the Virginia Motorsports Hall of Fame Museum, with a husband/wife duo that wrote 20 number one hit songs.
Concessions will be available for purchase from the Patrick County Shooting Education Team, with proceeds supporting firearm safety education for local youth.
