Following a successful community input session held on March 10 at the Patrick & Henry Community College Stuart site, Patrick County is inviting residents to continue shaping the future of their community by participating in an online survey now available through the end of April.
The survey is the next phase in the county’s ongoing update of its Comprehensive Plan, the long range guide that will inform growth, development, and community priorities for the next 15 to 20 years.
County officials, in partnership with the West Piedmont Planning District Commission (WPPDC) and the Patrick County Planning Commission, are seeking broad participation to ensure the plan reflects the needs, values, and aspirations of residents across all areas of Patrick County.
“We were encouraged by the thoughtful input shared during the March community session,” said Sarah Wray of the Patrick County Planning Commission. “This survey is another important opportunity for residents to tell us what matters most to them. The more voices we hear, the stronger and more representative our Comprehensive Plan will be.”
The survey asks participants to share their perspectives on topics such as land use, housing, economic opportunity, transportation, outdoor recreation, and other priorities that will guide the county’s strategic direction.
All Patrick County residents, business owners, and community stakeholders are encouraged to complete the survey and share it with neighbors, friends, and local networks to help ensure broad community representation.
The survey is available now and will remain open through April 30, 2026. Residents can access the survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Z7P9TN7 or by visiting the county’s official website, co.patrick.va.us.
Work on the Comprehensive Plan will continue through 2026, with additional opportunities for public engagement throughout the process. A full draft of the updated plan is expected to be completed by the end of 2026 for review by the Patrick County Board of Supervisors.
