Weather permitting, beginning Monday, March 30, drivers can expect flaggers controlling alternating traffic on Virginia 8 and Virginia 836 (Ashby Drive) in Patrick County.
The one-lane road flagging operation will be in place intermittently for the duration of the project to replace drainage structures and install a left turn lane from Virginia 8 northbound onto Virginia 836 westbound. While school is in session, flagging operations will be limited to the hours of 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Drivers may experience delays or seek alternate routes.
The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2026.
Motorists should pay attention to signs and electronic message boards that will be posted to alert drivers to the changes.
