Surry Community College will present a Spring Student Art Show on Thursday, April 16, from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on the third floor of the J-Building on the Dobson campus. This event will be held in conjunction with the SCC Open House for prospective students.
The art show will feature work from the graduating Associate in Fine Arts students, including 3D design, drawing, painting, ceramics, and digital photography. Also featured, is an Instrument Petting Zoo, where students will be able to view and try different musical instruments. A small opening reception will provide light refresh ments.
The art show will be featured along side the college-wide open house. Prospective students will be able to view student art and speak to Lead Art Instructor, Anna-Olivia Sisk, who will be present to answer questions about the visual arts opportunities that Surry Community College has to offer. This event is free and open to the public.
The Associate in Fine Arts in Visual Arts degree program at SCC focuses heavily on the visual fine arts and is recommended for those who plan to continue their education at a four-year institution. This program prepares transfer students to meet selective admission criteria for acceptance into a Bachelor of Fine Arts or Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts at a senior college or university.

Participants will meet instructors, tour labs, and learn about student resources. Student clubs and Surry Knights Athletics will be represented along with Admissions, Financial Aid, and the Purpose Center.
