For the 17th year, Virginia Agriculture in the Classroom celebrated Agriculture Literacy Week. AITC’s 2026 Book of the Year, 2026 Book of the Year: Farm Boots by Lisl H. Detlefsen.
Patrick County Farm Bureau Board donated the 2026 Book of the Year to all Patrick County elementary schools, Trinity Christian School and the Patrick County Public Library.
A Special thanks to all our wonderful Volunteers who traveled county wide to promote the importance of agriculture, stated Sandra Heath Patrick County Farm Bureau Volunteer Board Member & Women’s Leadership Committee Chair.
Agriculture Literacy Week is Virginia AITC’s largest educational event, with more than 22,000 agriculture-related books have been placed in classrooms. The event is one of numerous initiatives Virginia AITC utilizes to help students and educators gain a greater awareness and understanding of agriculture.
