Friday, May 29
The Stuart Farmers Market, 320 Chestnut Ave., Stuart, will be open from 8 a.m.-noon. The Reynolds Homestead will be onsite to help shoppers create pressed flower bookmarks with pre-pressed flowers and herbs. The Landmark Center will also offer free blood pressure checks. Check out the fresh vegetables, eggs, coffee, soaps, knitted items, bread, baked goods, and other goods available at the market.
Wayside Community Church invites everyone to come and hear an encouraging message from Pastor Mark Collins and music by Levi Head and Elijah Smith. The event starts at 6:30 p.m. A light meal and refreshments will be served after. The church is located at 3520 Wayside Road in Stuart.

Snowball Mountain Challenge at Patrick Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church, 6:30-8:30 p.m. A meal will be provided. All ages welcome.

The Patrick County Music Association (PCMA) hosts the Songwriter’s Circle Series at the VA Motorsports Hall of Fame Auditorium. Doors open at 5 p.m., with music starting at 6 p.m. Tickets are $10 and are available at The Coffee Break, Quilted Colors, and the Patrick County Tourism Office.
The Meadows of Dan Women’s Club Bingo at the Meadows of Dan Community Center. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the games start at 6 p.m. There will be raffle drawings and food available for eat in or take out. For more information, call 404-401-0064.

The Patrick County Food Bank will distribute food boxes at its Stuart site from 8:30-11 a.m. and from 5-6:30 p.m., at Fellowship Church in Ararat from 8-10 a.m., and starting at 5:30 p.m. at the community building in Meadows of Dan.

The Patrick County Senior Citizens Group will hold its June monthly meeting at 11 a.m., in the Hooker Building at Rotary Field in Stuart. Entertainment will be provided by Philip Adams. Subway sandwiches, chips, baked beans, condiments, and beverages will be provided to all attendees. Attendees are asked to bring desserts to share.

The General Joseph Martin Chapter and the Patrick Henry Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will hold a flag day program at 3 p.m. in the Martinsville-Henry County Historical Society in the old courtroom. Everyone who attends will receive a handheld American Flag.

The Patrick County Senior Citizens Group is sponsoring two separate day trips, with each trip featuring charter bus transportation, an exceptional show performance, and a special luncheon meal. Trip 1, Thursday, August 20, to see “ The Classic Country Jubilee” at the historic Rudy Theatre in Selma, N.C. Trip 2, Thursday, December 3, to see “An Appalachian Christmas” at The Wohlfahrt Haus Theatre in Wytheville, Va. A limited number of seats are still available for either trip.
