The Patrick County Music Association’s (PCMA) fifth installment of the Songwriter Circle Series is set for Saturday, June 6 at the Virginia Motorsports Museum & Hall of Fame Auditorium.
Doors open at 5 p.m. and the music will start at 6 p.m.
Performers include Roger Handy, Miller Hopkins, Barry Hutchens, Will Hutchens, Johnny Joyce, Charlie McCurry, and Dana Hunt Black.
PCMA President Denny Alley said Black has written 20 number #1 country songs for artists like George Strait, Suzy Bogguss, Alan Jackson, Clay Walker, Tracy Byrd, Anne Marie, and others.
“She’s a looker and a good singer,” he said.
Alley said some of Black’s most notable writing credits include Strait’s “Check Yes or No” and “Write This Down, “It Would Be You” by Gary Allan, and “The Thrill is Back” by Jackson.
With only 150 seats available in the auditorium, Alley said tickets are limited.
Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased at the Coffee Break, Patrick County Tourism Visitor’s Center, and Quilted Colors.
Alley said those who purchase tickets in advance will also gain free access to the Virginia Motorsports Museum & Hall of Fame from 4-6 p.m.
“You go in and get a tour of the museum by one of the guys who got a car over there. So a two-hour window for people to and look around the Motorsports Museum,” he said.
Concessions will be available for purchase from the Patrick County Shooting Education Team, with proceeds supporting firearm safety education for local youth.
