Having to battle three tie-breaker matches made it a tough evening for the Patrick County High School Lady Cougar tennis team last Tuesday at Franklin County High School. The score was 3-6.
“It was a long night for us,” said Coach Sharon Smith.

Singles: #1-Laura Jarvi def Kristen Epperson (PC) 6-0, 6-1; #2-Connor Ranson def Shyann Walter (PC) 6-0, 6-0; #3-Bethany Graham def Gracen Baliles (PC) 6-2, 6-1; #4-Hannah Martin (PC) def Risa Philpott 4-6, 7-6, 10-6 tiebreaker; #5-Megan Thompson def Helen Dawson (PC) 6-2, 7-6; #6-Ashton Young (PC) def Alicia Schwallenberg 6-2, 6-3.
Doubles: #1-Jarvi/Ranson def Epperson/Walter 8-0; #2-Graham/Philpott def Martin/Baliles 8-2; #3-Dawson/Young (PC) def Thompson/Hernandez 8-4.
The Lady Cougars have three tennis matches slated this week; they played at George Washington of Danville Tuesday. They will play Bassett at home Thursday, and will host Floyd Friday afternoon.
