Angela Hill has been hired as the next editor of The Enterprise, following Nancy’s Lindsey’s retirement. Hill, who has about 16 years’ experience in news and feature writing, copy editing and content editing; has covered a number of topics, including banking, finance, healthcare, local and state government, higher education, schools, entertainment, senior citizen issues, construction trades and tourism.
Hill said she also covered community news for various Richmond-based newspapers and magazines; including a business journal, weekly newspapers, specialty publications, and tourism magazines.
Hill said she spent eight years as a freelancer for Media General’s former Suburban Newspapers Inc. and the Special Sections division of The Richmond Times-Dispatch, and added that she started writing for newspapers in the 11th grade, working with the Salem High School newspaper.
A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), Hill earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Mass Communications with a concentration in newswriting and editing. She served as executive editor of the VCU student newspaper and was recognized as a winner of a Dow Jones News Fund internship and scholarship in copy editing.
Hill, who grew up in Roanoke City, moved to Patrick County in April 2015 after spending 20 years in Richmond. She said she attended Salem schools, and in addition to VCU, also attended James Madison University.
