The annual Memorial Day Service will be held at 8:30 p.m. on Monday, May 27 at Patrick Memorial Gardens in Stuart.
The theme is “You Will Never Be Forgotten.”
Presented by American Legion Post 105 and the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard, the ceremony will include a display of luminaries set along the roadway and lit in honor of living or deceased veterans or those currently serving in the armed forces.
A luminary may be purchased for $10 by mailing a check or money order for $10 fee per luminary to Gary Griffith, treasurer, American Legion Post 105, P.O. Box 77, Woolwine, Va., 24185.
Information that includes the name of the person to be honored, whether that person is living, deceased or currently serving, branch of service, period(s) of service, whether the honoree was killed while serving and date of death must be included.
The name, address and telephone numbers of the person purchasing the luminary also is required.
All proceeds from luminary sales benefit American Legion Post 105 and the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Guard.
