The Commissioner of the Revenue’s Office will mail real estate tax relief applications for the Elderly and Handicapped to those who qualified last year and to those who requested applications for this year.
Applications for the Real Estate Tax Relief program are due March 1, 2022.
If you are a Patrick County resident, aged 65 or older, and/or were 100 percent disabled on December 31, 2021, and you meet the requirements, you could receive a reduction in your real estate taxes up to $300.
The combined gross income of the household for 2021 year cannot exceed $24,000.
The taxpayer’s total combined financial net worth as of December 31, 2021, cannot exceed $100,000. The net worth limit excludes up to $100,000 for the assessed value of the residence, and up to one acre surrounding the residence, other requirements must be meet.
