We are busy in our little corner of the county. While our numbers are few, our membership is mighty.
We hosted a local crafter/vendor fair in April and are beginning to ‘open up’ as our government allows for more relaxed gatherings.
We are planning for more interactive/live fundraisers and community events.
Our in-person CA$H Bingo was well attended, and we are planning for more of these this summer.
We have been offering a ‘Facebook’ fundraiser, which has been very well received.
We’ve raffled off guns, ammunition, and Wood Brothers memorabilia. Currently, we are raffling a television. The list of what we plan is varied. Be sure to follow us on FaceBook.
We invite the public to come out and pay homage to our local heroes on Saturday, May 22, as we show our appreciation to our county fire departments, rescue squads, and law enforcement personnel. The county’s emergency services apparatus will be on display for everyone to tour. We will have light concessions available from noon until 3 p.m.
We will have another painting class – led by Debbie Culler – on June 17. To pre-register, submit payment of $25, which includes all supplies, to paypal.me/AraratRuritanClub or mail to Ararat Ruritan Club, P.O. Box 193, Ararat, VA 24053.
To inquire on rental rates/availability (our building is available for rental for your reunions, showers, birthday parties, or other get-togethers), call Kevin Smith at 276-251-1790, email AraratRuritanClub@gmail.com, or message us on Facebook.
Our club meets on the first Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. You are cordially invited to visit with us and help us help our community meet its needs.
