Authar (Hubert) Bowman, 82, of J.B. Dalton Road, Ridgeway, died Monday morning, November 28, 2016, at Morehead Memorial Hospital.
He was born March 13, 1934 in Patrick County, to the late Burnie Lee Bowman and Naomi Pack Bowman. He was also preceded in death by his brother, William “Bill” Lee Bowman.
He was a retiree of American Furniture Company and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Roberts Bowman of the home; daughter, Wendy Sawyers of Ridgeway; and sisters, Faye Flinchum of Martinsville, and Alene Mabe and Annie Mae Prillaman, both of Sandy Ridge, N.C.
A funeral service was held Thursday at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Mountain View Cemetery in Ridgeway.
