A benefit to raise funds to help a leukemia patient will be held Oct. 7, according to a release from organizers.
Brenda Quesinberry was diagnosed in July with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, a type of cancer that develops in blood-forming cells, the release stated.
Quesinberry soon was admitted to the hospital for an extended stay and several days of chemotherapy.
To help with those medical costs, family and friends will hold a day of fun and entertainment.
“You’re invited to come out and join us for this special occasion, support a great woman who is a true asset to our community and our county,” the release stated.
A motorcycle/car ride will be held, along with musical entertainment, inflatables for children, and corn-hole, all at the Vesta Community Center.
Homemade biscuits will be offered for sale at 9 a.m., followed by barbeque plates and hot dog plates for sale later in the day.
Registration for the ride starts at 10 a.m., with riders to depart at 11 a.m.
Southern Remedy will take the stage at 1 p.m.
A beautiful handmade quilt donated by Evelyn Boyd will be raffled off and several items will be open for bid during a silent auction.
