James Darron Bennett Jr. has completed U.S. Army Basic Training and AIT as horizontal construction engineer at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.
James recently graduated from Airborne School at Fort Benning, Ga., having completed five successful jumps. Upon receiving his Airborne wings, he is now stationed at Fort Bragg, N.C.,. as an Airborne combat engineer.
He is a 2015 graduate of Patrick County High School.
He is the son of James Darron and Christy Hill Bennett of Ararat. Grandparents are the late Bill Bennett, Gail and Tommy Hicks of Mount Airy, N.C., Mary Dellenback Hill of Ararat and the late Garry Lee Hill.
