Betty Jane Leinart Plowman, age 93, of Ferrum, passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center.
She was born in York County, Pa., on December 12, 1922 and was a daughter of the late Ervin Leinart and Bertha Altland Leinart. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth William Plowman, and three siblings, Jay Leinart, Eileen Bretzman, and Roy Leinart.
Surviving are three children, William Thomas Plowman, Constance Ann Gentzler and husband Richard, and Gayle Dawn McTighe and husband Rory; seven grandchildren, Tere Aldinger, Robin Plowman, Richard Gentzler Jr., Jyl Levenstein, Cynamon Chawla, Molly Metz and Kevin McTighe; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in December in Pennsylvania.
