Mrs. Beverley Ruth Young Philpot, 87, of Ararat, passed away peacefully on Monday evening August 12, 2019 at Landmark Center in Stuart, Virginia. She was born on October 4, 1931 in Cambridge, MA to the late John and Irene Wigginton Young. She was the owner of Bev’s Blueberry Patch in Ararat and was a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church where she loved her church family dearly. Mrs. Philpot had a tremendous love for her cats and dogs and will be missed by all of her many friends that knew her. Left to cherish her memories are nieces, Shirley Kasanovich of Norwood, NH and Irene Cook of Hopkinton, ME; a special friend and caregiver, Becky McCann of Claudville; her loving church family; and many dear friends. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Philpot was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Ernest “Chappie” Philpot. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at Trinity Baptist Church at 2 p.m. with Rev. Chad Harrison and Dr. Jerry Whitlow officiating. Burial will be in the Doe Run Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Trinity Baptist Church. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of the staff at Landmark Center for the love and care given to Bev during her stay.
