Congratulations, Patrick County! A successful blood drive was scheduled in Stuart on the 4th of July holiday with different donating hours. Thank you for your dedication.
Thirty-five donors presented on Independence Day to donate and 35 equivalent units of whole blood were collected. That translates to helping as many as 105 people. There were seven donors who donated “double-reds,” and one first-time donor.
July’s average wait-time, from “arrival to table,” was 20 minutes. Thank you, Red Cross, for staffing our blood drive properly.
Thanks to all donors who took time out of their 4th of July holiday to do their part to help others in need. Always remember, every donor counts and is gratefully appreciated. And every person who presents makes a difference!
Volunteers working on the 4th of July were Christine and Laura Citrano, Patty Brunner, our beloved Jesse Mae Vernon, Betty Holt, Ron Manning, Everett Rakes and John Johnson. Thanks, volunteers, for sharing your holiday with Patrick County donors and the American Red Cross.
Thank you to Uptown Suites, a long-time sponsor, for sponsoring this month’s blood drive.
Next month’s scheduled sponsor is Sheppard’s Body Shop in Stuart.
That blood drive is scheduled on Tuesday, August 1, at Rotary Field in the John D. Hooker Memorial Building; 12:30 to 6:30 p.m.. Just remember the first Tuesday of every month.
Please consider giving blood. Make a difference in your life as well as in the lives of others in need.
Thank you again, Patrick County, for making the July blood drive such a success.

Blood Drive Coordinator
