The Patrick County Blood Drive is scheduled for Tuesday, July 5 from 12:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the John D. Hooker Building at Rotary Field in Stuart.
We welcome all donors, those who will give for the first time and dedicated donors who have given before, with or without appointments.
Remember, the Red Cross reminds everyone that can save up to 15 minutes at your upcoming appointment with RapidPass. We had an exceptional number of donors last month who utilized RapidPass.
Importance of blood type O: blood type O is routinely in short supply and in high demand by hospitals—both because it is the most common blood type and because type O negative blood, in particular, is the universal type needed for emergency transfusions.
July’s blood drive is sponsored by our own Stuart Rotary Club whose members believe in service before self. The Rotary Club is a first-time supporter of the blood drive. The American Red Cross and I welcome Stuart Rotary into our family of sponsors and look forward to a long relationship.
If you are interested in volunteering, please stop by Rotary Field during July’s drive or call 694-0272. Giving back to your community by volunteering can be a very rewarding experience. Our volunteers have a blast.
Donate blood—it does make a difference.
The need for blood is constant. The gratification is instant.
Please join me in welcoming back this month Roger, my predecessor.
I will be on a “road trip,” marking off one of the items on my “bucket-list.” I’ll be back in August.
Thank you, Patrick County, for being people I can always count on.
Gene Stirewalt,
Coordinator
