What a successful blood drive! Thirty-five units of blood were collected at the Stuart blood drive last week. That translates to helping save as many as 105 lives. That is the reason Patrick County donors donate.
A big “thank you” goes out to those who attempted to donate but were unable to donate. Please remember always that each donor is important and all donations make a successful blood drive.
Thank you, volunteers, for your dedication: the Citrano sisters, Christine and Laura, at the registration desk, Patti Brunner, Betty Holt, Jesse Mae Vernon, Myrtle Gregory, Cindy Law, Everette Rakes, and Roger Rouellier, all making donating more comfortable.
I would like to welcome back Cindy Law as a volunteer, and I hope the donors had a chance to taste Jesse Mae’s homemade cookies that she always brings to the blood drive.
Thank you to Stuart Rotary Club for sponsoring the blood drive this month. I hope that the Rotary Club will become a long-time sponsor of such a worthy community involvement.
Our next blood drive is scheduled for August 2 from 12:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the John D. Hooker Building, Rotary Field, Stuart
Please remember the equation for a successful blood drive: donors + sponsors + volunteers + the American Red Cross. Each one is as important as the other.
I look forward to our next blood drive in August.
